Regulatory Compliance
1997: Recycling and disassembly assessments commenced

Toyota began using easily recycled materials, improved ease of disassembly, and developed recycling technologies with the aim of improving recyclability and encouraging the reuse of resources. To improve disassembly performance of end-of-life vehicles and in particular parts subject to risk of non-renewable resource shortages, the Prototype Production Division developed vehicle structures that can be recovered through a single removal process. In addition, the Division added disassembly method requirements for nibbler processing and provided support to disassembly businesses. Recycling programs were also conducted to avoid risks of resource shortages.
