The Verossa 4-door sedan was introduced in July 2001 as the successor to the Chaser/Cresta lines. Designed as an "emotional sedan," the Verossa mounted a dynamically styled body on a rear-wheel-drive platform developed for the second-generation Aristo and the tenth-generation Crown. The three available inline 6-cylinder engines included a 2.5-liter turbocharged unit delivering 280 PS, a 2.5-liter direct injection unit with 200 PS, and a 2.0-liter 160 PS engine. The standard drivetrain layout was front-engine, rear-wheel-drive, with an option for full-time 4-wheel-drive.

In January 2002, the customized "Speciale" version was added, featuring an aerodynamic body kit from Modellista while tuning up the engine and suspension system. Production of the Verossa was discontinued in April 2004 to coincide with the merger of the Vista and Netz sales channels.
