Positioned in between a minivan and a sedan, the Nadia used the first-generation Ipsum minivan as its base model. Its major difference from a minivan was the lack of the third-row seats. The Nadia had a rear windshield that slanted forward, and could accommodate five passengers in two rows of seats. As the base model was a minivan, the height and width of the cabin were large enough to enable various seat arrangements, taking advantage of the front seats that could swivel 180 degrees, the front backrests that could be laid fully flat, and the 5:5 split rear seats. Walkthrough was possible between the front seats, as well as between the front and rear seats. Two 2-liter 4-cylinder DOHC engines were available, one producing 135 PS and the other producing 145 PS with a D-4 direct injection system. The transmission was either a super-intelligent 4-speed automatic (Super ECT) or an electronically controlled 4-speed automatic. In addition to front-engine, front-wheel-drive models, an active torque control 4-wheel-drive model was also made available. In June 1999, the SUV-like Type SU model was added to the lineup.

Production of the first-generation Nadia was discontinued in October 2003, bringing the model line to an end.
