Developed in answer to the rising demand for large trucks at the beginning of the Pacific War, the Model KB truck with a payload capacity of four tons was manufactured from March 1942 to December 1943. Using the Model GB truck as the base model, the Model KB extended the wheelbase by 400 mm to 4,000 mm, and modified the front body design. One month after the KB, the Model LB was also released featuring the same wheelbase as that of the GB.
