When the Hiace series underwent a minor makeover in July 1999, the Regius Ace van was created specifically for the Toyota Vista sales channel. The Regius Ace van was actually identical with the Hiace van except for the name. The Regius Ace van offered only standard roof models, although standard-length and long-body versions were available. The engine was either a 2-liter gasoline unit or a 3-liter diesel.
