Developed in answer to the rising demand for large trucks at the beginning of the Pacific War, the Model KB truck with a payload capacity of four tons was manufactured from March 1942 to December 1943. One month after the KB, the Model LB was manufactured from April 1942. The model LB, instead of model HB, was shortened the wheelbase by 4,000 mm to 3,594 mm for the short shassy of bus and special model.
