Didier Leroy, who became president of Toyota Motor Europe NV/SA (TME) in June 2010, delivered the following message.

  1. As energy sources and types diversify, Toyota will rise to the challenge by going full speed ahead in adopting the cutting edge of environmental technologies, especially hybrid technology, to an ever broader selection of motor vehicles.
  2. We will make our best effort to implement programs of product development, production, and quality management and thereby provide vehicles that give our customers safety and confidence.
  3. We are developing appealing new products that will be exciting to see, exciting to drive, and exciting to own.

At the Paris Motor Show, we will show several of our latest models and technology. First of all, the FT-CH, a compact hybrid car that offers fun driving while pursuing the very best in eco-driving. Then the FT-EV II, the latest version of our super-compact concept EV as a "short-range small commuter," achieving an ultra-high efficiency package with four seats in a very compact, lightweight body. We'll also exhibit the Prius and Auris hybrids that are already sold in Europe, along with the Prius Plug-in Hybrid that is to be launched. At the Paris Motor Show, we will also show a broad lineup of hybrid models with Toyota's proprietary Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) as well as exhibits showing the history of our hybrid technology.

For models already on the market, we will exhibit our engines and the Toyota Optimal Drive, new drivetrain technology that leads the way in environmental technology, enabling a complete new lineup of highly fuel-efficient models.

"World premier" of our Verso-S, a Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) in a compact size that still offers more than ample interior space and maximum convenience (Ractis in Japanese market). The styling of the Verso-S makes maximum use of the vehicle's packaging, and this exciting compact car offers a high level of environmental technology as well as a level of performance that is especially apropos to Europe.

Our extensive exhibits include the customized show model iQ and the compact FR sports concept vehicle FT-86 Concept, which is designed to advance the true attractiveness of the automobile—fun driving and pride of ownership.

We will exhibit a lineup of Lexus Hybrid Drive (LHD) vehicles that offer high levels of both environmental and vehicular performance as well as the IS200d, a clean diesel-powered car and a first for Lexus, and two facelift models, the IS250 and the IS F.

Among the latest models to incorporate Lexus Hybrid Drive is the CT200h, the first 5-door hybrid car in the premium compact segment, which offers exhilarating handling and performance with a very high level of environmental performance as well. The CT200h will be marketed at an appropriate time in early 2011.

"F" signifies the premium sports car of the Lexus brand, and we will exhibit the LFA, which takes sensation and sensuality of sports-car driving to new and higher levels. Production of LFA models is expected to begin around the end of the year.
