What is Toyota's stance on biodiversity?

Currently in the world there are thought to be around 30 million different species. However, due to factors such as large-scale human development, it is estimated that approximately 40,000 species become extinct each year. Thus many groups, including the United Nations, are promoting initiatives aimed at preserving global biodiversity. We have developed Toyota Biodiversity Guidelines, based on the Guiding Principles at Toyota (See P12 of the Sustainability Report 2010) as part of its efforts to help achieve sustainable development. Toyota will establish future biodiversity-related initiatives based on these guidelines.
