The Toyota Volunteer Center was established in 1993 with the aim of supporting the volunteer activities of current and former employees and their families. In order to make use of the strength that a major corporation such as Toyota can provide to offer assistance with rehabilitation and reconstruction in areas and populations that have been affected by natural disasters, Toyota Group companies came together and formed the Toyota Group Disaster V (Volunteer) Net in April 2003.
Since its inception, this network has helped coordinate efforts such as reconstruction and disaster relief money collection with governmental volunteer groups whenever natural disasters strike. In addition to assessing the needs of and collecting information about affected areas, the network holds disaster volunteer simulation events to get people to think more about those who would be most vulnerable in the event of a disaster and to raise awareness about volunteering in such event.
Toyota offers relief toward disaster occurs throughout the world.
