Donating Traffic Safety Education Materials to Children

Traffic Safety Picture Book and Storytelling Card Set

The Toyota Nagoya Education Center, Incorporated (Chubu Nippon Driver School) has developed easy-to-understand educational materials that use a baby chick character named Cuccu. These materials explain to young children about the dangers of suddenly running out into the street and the proper way of crossing the street.
In addition, there is also a picture book aimed at parents and guardians that explains about accidents involving young children and the importance of using child seats.

The education materials that are donated and the places that receive these materials are listed below.

(1) Cuccu's Traffic Safety Picture Book: "Ohoshi sama o miniikou" (Let's Go and See the Stars)

Approximately 2,540,000 copies are distributed to all new nursery school and kindergarten students throughout Japan.

(2) Cuccu's Traffic Safety Storytelling Card Set: "Uchu kara tomodachi ga yattekita" (A New Friend from Space)

Approximately 46,000 sets are distributed to nursery schools, kindergartens, main libraries, and children's facilities throughout Japan.

Total number of materials distributed:

  • Picture book: approximately 131,140,000 copies
  • Storytelling card set: approximately 1,420,000 sets (from FY 1969 to FY 2013)
