Reaction to the Environmental Report 2000

The period covered by this report is the fiscal year 2000 (April 1, 2000 to March 31, 2001). It describes environmental activities, mainly concerning automobiles, carried out in Japan during that period. Please note that FY indicates Fiscal Year. Since the Report is now being published in July, activities which made notable progress are covered up until July.

The report begins with an overall description of Toyota "Environmental Management" and then according to the order of the lifecycle of an automobile, reports on the activities of "Development and Design," "Procurement and Production," "Logistics," and "Recycling and Sales/After Sales."

The case studies included in several chapters, as well as the "Special Story" at the end of the report, introduce Toyota environmental examples and projects that had a particularly favorable effect in FY2000.

This English report is the direct translation of the Japanese version issued on July 5, 2001.
