On November 28th, development projects: "Tsunagaru Bike" and "TOYOTA Fun-Vii", being exhibited at the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show 2011, were announced at a pre-event festival at the O-Daiba Mega Web theme park.
In the first part of the festival, Toyota Motor Corporation president, Akio Toyoda, introduced Hiroyuki Yanagi, president of Yamaha Motor Company which is in cooperation with Toyota in building a foundation towards the next generation mobile society with such development projects as the "Tsunagaru Bike". (Tsunagaru means to connect.) Together they introduced the "Tsunagaru" electric scooter model, "EC-Miu" and the electric motor assist bicycle, "PAS WITH",
In the second part, the concept car, "TOYOTA Fun-Vii", which is the embodiment of a 20XX-year future, "connecting" people, vehicles and society, made an appearance. Dream-like functions were demonstrated in a performance. These functions centering on information transmission capabilities and included such features as changing the body color from a smart phone; using a multi-information display to connect with other people; or an automatic cruising system connected to the city.
With the motto, "Fun to Drive - Again", and with its eyes firmly set on a near-future for mobility, Toyota is exhibiting prototypes and proposing vehicles with "Dreams and Enjoyment".
