Spare Parts Logistics

An important element for winning the trust of vehicle users (customers) is the spare parts supply system. This includes not only the obvious producer responsibility to supply replacement parts, but also requires timely supply of spare parts to cover regular exchange of consumables, parts exchange following customer accidents, and other situations.

Carrying out vehicle repair and parts exchange with as little delay as possible is important in building a relationship of trust with customers. Within Japan, a nationwide network of parts distributors has been established to provide services that swiftly and efficiently link Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) with dealers. TMC works together with parts distributors to provide spare parts to dealers quickly, efficiently, and at low cost.

Among the wide range of measures aimed at improving services for overseas markets are the use of air freight in addition to regular marine shipping and establishing of depots (parts warehouses) in North America, Europe, and each of the other regions.
