The Model DB70 bus was steadily improved and redesigned into the DB80 and DB90. Following the release of the remodeled truck (FA100) in September 1964, the bus was again redesigned as the DB100 in December.

As the front body was borrowed from the FA100 truck, the external styling of the bus was sharp-cornered. The wheelbase differed for each of the three body types: 4,370 mm (DB100), 4,800 mm (DB102), and 5,170 mm (DB105). The engine was a 6.5-liter 130 hp unit (2D).

These Model DBs were the last bonnet-type buses that Toyota produced.
