    Detects Objects by Ultrasonic Waves

The ultrasonic wave sensor is built into the corners of the bumper. It detects the distance to objects and notifies the driver with sound and display lamp alerts.
There also is a steering-sensor that uses the steering maneuver and angle. It detects the distance of approaching obstacles and notifies a driver by a clearance sonar indication light and buzzer.

    Automatic Braking by Sensor Detection

When the Clearance Sonar perceives that there is a wall or other such obstruction in the vehicle's path during start-off in a parking lot, etc., in addition to the Clearance Sonar Warning Function, the output of the engine and motor is restricted and automatic braking is applied as necessary. In case of accidental or excessive depression of the accelerator, this helps to reduce the chance of collision or reduce the impact and damage if a collision occurs.

    Left and Right Confirmation Support

When starting off the vehicle in parking lots or in areas where vision is obstructed, the driver is alerted to vehicles or pedestrians trying to cross the path of the vehicle by both a sound and an on-screen display to support the confirmation of safety.

    Left and Right Confirmation Support

In addition, this feature can also be used under the following conditions.

    • When entering blind intersections or T-intersections where visibility is obstructed by objects such as walls or trees.

    • When the driver wishes to check around the left and right sides of the vehicle in places where many pedestrians or other vehicles are present.

    • When the driver wishes to check the vehicle's blind spots when leaving a parking lot.

    • When leaving a parking space from which visibility is obstructed by objects such as pillars or other parked cars.

*The area captured by the camera is limited and objects may appear further away than they actually are. Pay careful attention to the surrounding conditions in order to ensure safe driving, and do not overly rely on the displayed image from the camera.

*There are cases in which the Left and Right Confirmation Support function is unable to alert the driver due to factors such as the brightness of the surrounding area and the speed of moving objects. In addition, this function does not alert the driver of stationary objects.
