A southern constellation (the Keel).
The available engines included a 1,600 cc unit (12T-U) conforming to the 1978 emission standards, as well as 1,800 cc (3T-U), 2,000 cc (18R-U), and 2,000 cc DOHC (18-GU) units that satisfied the 1976 standards, and a 1,600 cc DOHC (2T-GEU) with an electronic fuel injection system (EFI). The 2,000 cc unit (19R) employing Honda's CVCC technology was discontinued.
The 1,800 cc engine met the 1978 emission standards in October 1977, and the entire model lineup satisfied the standards by September 1978. In a minor model change in August 1979, the body was lengthened by 120 mm to give it a slant-nose style, and the four round headlamps were replaced with rectangular ones.
The 2-door sedan version was discontinued at the end of the second model generation.
