The fourth-generation Hiace truck was launched in May 1995. The integration of its 1-ton class models with those of the Dyna and Toyoace that had started with the previous model generation was carried a step further, and everything except the front grille was shared with the two other brands. The Dyna and Toyoace series covered models with payload capacities of 1.25-3.5 tons, while the Hiace covered 1-1.25 ton models.
Plant Honsha plant, Toyota Auto Body Co.,Ltd.
"Hiace" combines "high" and "ace," signifying a vehicle that surpasses its predecessor, the Toyoace.
