Toyota finally completed the Type D diesel engine in March 1957, fitting it to the Model DA60 diesel truck released at the same time, and then to the Model DB70 diesel bus announced in July and released in August. The 6-cylinder 5.9-liter Type D diesel engine had the maximum output of 110 hp.
